Brewing Methods
Traditional Turkish Method (With Çaydanlık)
The çaydanlık is a two-tier Turkish teapot used to brew strong, flavorful tea. Follow these steps to brew TAMI Turkish Black Tea traditionally:
- Fill the bottom kettle of the çaydanlık with fresh water and bring it to a boil.
- Pour boiling water into the top kettle and add 5-6 tablespoons of TAMI Turkish Black Tea leaves.
- Let the tea steam on low heat for 10-15 minutes.
- Pour less than halfway of the concentrated tea into a small Turkish tea glass (çay bardağı) and dilute with hot water to your preferred strength.
Alternative Brewing Methods (Without Çaydanlık)
For those without a traditional çaydanlık, you can still enjoy the rich taste of TAMI Turkish Black Tea by following these simple methods:
Option 1: Using a Regular Teapot
- Add 1-2 teaspoons of TAMI Turkish Black Tea leaves per cup into a regular teapot.
- Pour freshly boiled water over the tea leaves.
- Let the tea steep for 4-5 minutes.
- Strain the tea and enjoy, adjusting the strength by adding more hot water if desired.
Option 2: Using an Infuser or Tea Bag
- Add 1-2 teaspoons of tea leaves into an infuser.
- Steep in boiling water for 4-5 minutes.
- Remove the infuser and enjoy.
Tips for the Perfect Brew
- Water Temperature: Boil fresh, cold water for the best flavor extraction.
- Tea-to-Water Ratio: For stronger tea, add more leaves or let it steam longer. To make the tea milder, simply dilute with more water.
- Steeping Time: Let the tea steam for 10-15 minutes when using the Turkish method, or steep for 4-5 minutes for alternative methods. Adjust the steeping time based on your taste preference.
Serving Tip: Turkish tea is traditionally enjoyed without sugar cubes—because real tea lovers can handle the strength! But hey, if you need to sweeten things up with a cube or two, we won't judge... well, maybe a little!
